“Young Blood” short fight film.

So, I just realized I never told you about my past projects! Let’s start with this one..

I moved out to Los Angeles almost two years ago, and last year my friends and I produced our first short film together. We got this short “experimental” project together from concept, to pre-production, to production in 10 days flat!

The project involved a big collaboration between by myself, Cory Demeyers, Deville Vannik, Jesse La Flair, Sean Harmon, James Bendishaw, Josh Yadon, Josh Hill, Julian Hulme, and a couple others. This little short, although rough, shows you how a group of talented individuals can make something happen by sheer will (on the morning of the one day shoot, everything was almost called off due to filming permit problems).

A HUGE THANKS goes to Jesse La Flair for pulling this out of the can and finally editing it together! And thank you all for working together on this, we definitely went through, and learned a lot together! I hope I get to work with these talented and great individuals again in the future..

“Young Blood is a film about young men who fight for money to survive while trying to come up in the underground fight world, in which everything is corrupt and no one is safe. It is clear that everyone in the film is looking out for themselves and some are even forced to fight for their families under the hands of the higher ups. ”

“80s Fitness” – Koan Sound music video shoot!

So this past weekend (Sep 14-16) I got the privilege of working with my awesome friends on the set of a music video for Koan Sound’s “80s Fitness”! My friend, Tim Hendrix, was the mastermind behind this video. (One of Tim’s music videos – http://vimeo.com/44753415) I worked with Tim on another project earlier this year, and I knew I was in for an interesting weekend.. Kimo Keoke was once again the stunt coordinator, and I got to act and perform stunts by the side of my friend Mike, and my girlfriend Mary.

The premise of the video was to revive the 80s fitness craze, so we were all given “super 80s” makeovers. The theme for the weekend was glistening with big hair, sweatbands, legwarmers, and short shorts! Here is a pic of the cast (with Kimo in the middle). See if you can spot me (and/or Mike and Mary!)

This was one of the most interesting projects I’ve worked on so far, as the whole video was done with the use of a green screen. I learned a lot, and got to see some of the edited footage. The advancement of today’s technology has given us an amazing tool to use to our advantage, and I can’t wait to film more green screen and/or mo-cap footage!

The shoot lasted 3 long days. We worked hard, got finished within the time constraints, and everyone was ecstatic with the quality of the footage. As we wait for the post-production, I will leave you with a video clip of me testing out a wire rig for one of the actors..

Performing at the Choreographer’s Ball

So, thought I’d do a quick rundown of the show I did last Tuesday!

My friend Kimo Keoke is the co-producer of a theater production which takes place once a month at “The Avalon” in Hollywood. The Choreographer’s Ball brings together a bunch of different performance groups (dancers, stuntpeople, performers), and gives everyone a number to show of their skills to the industry. This month’s performance was modeled after Disney’s “Aladdin”, and Kimo asked my friend Mike and myself to help out! We, along with Team Sideswipe were asked to be the guards chasing Aladdin through the stage, and later the crowd.

Kimo, Mike, and I choreographed a 2 minute chase/fight scene with the main actors, and spent 2 weeks rehearsing. Our performance was on August 28th, and the video should be up in a week or so!
